Late Refit

Part of the ARP ST AU.

Rebuilt to combat the various Fleet of Fog ships, the Ambassador Classes would be out in their masses providing escort to larger ships like the Galaxy Class and Ardent Class. This was the Assault Variant, AKA the Frontline Variant. This variant had it's main pylon assembly be identical to the Galaxy Class Crusiers that were also fighting, also, this variant's interior was also very 'Galaxy'-like. Nearing the end of the confilcts with the Fog, all 129 Assault Ambassador Classes were sheduled in for a major refit; this primerally had the saucer beams extended so it became more 'Galaxy'-like and a newer warpcore installed to reach a maximum of Warp 9.466. The Dreadnought Variants would be also refitted with the same equipment and new beam arrays.

Furthermore; ARP USS Takao, NCC-1789 remodelled herself into this variant of the Ambassador Class after her previous first Starfleet Ambassador Class form was failing on her; and not because of Captain Gunzo and his crew. Her warpcore was malfunctioning so she hasteily remodelled herself to the newest Ambassador Class that Starfleet had built.

Within the Prime Timeline these Ambassadors would be seen mid-way through the Dominion War conflict as an act of more reliablity for the class which were still fightig unrefitted; even after the confict was over, most maintained service as the captains of most of them liked how the ship was and provided them a nice vessel to captain over. The 177th gained a Late Dominion War Assault Ambassador by the name of the USS Yaberu, NCC-86109.
