Description
Built by the LNER; the V2 Locomotive was a 2-6-2 Prairie Type. The LNER V2s are Mix-Traffic locomotives as they can be seen pulling either freight or passenger trains; as they were versitile locomotives. The V2s proved vital during WW2 as passenger trains weighing 70 tonnes was oddly made easy with a V2 leading the train. The V2s were modified over their working life for various other needs.
The entire class would be withdrawn and retired between 1962 - 1966.
