A fairly random map. I imagine it as a sort of steampunkish setting, perhaps a world in which Sherlock Holmes was a historical figure (note the Kingdom of Bohemia). There have been no world wars, and technology has developed at a somewhat more leisurely pace (there are no atom bombs or internet, and most people still travel by train). China still has an emperor, Germans are considered civilized if sometimes alarmingly efficient people, and blimps are plentiful. The US, busy looking over its shoulder at the Confederacy, has never been that involved in world affairs, and the British Empire is still the world's greatest power...
