Shellie's first day back to class since the accident has been challenging to say the least. Hobbling from class to class is hard enough without having to carry all these books!
The eyes of the class turn towards the awkward girl on crutches as she makes her way to her desk. No one really knows her well enough to lend a hand as she transferred to this college only a month ago.
Unfortunately, with one small slip up, all her stuff comes tumbling down before her in one loud crash.
Shellie soon notices that she's made a rather embarrassing scene right in front of the most popular girl on campus: Alexa.
This is going to be a really long day...
Authors Note:
Introducing a new character, Alexa, the "Queen Bee" on campus. She's rich, popular, fashion conscious, and doesn't seem terribly impressed by new girl Shellie.
Also, I have reorganized a lot of things and completely overhauled the skin shaders and several textures. It's a subtle change but should look a bit better for interior scenes and indirect lighting.

(Funny I must have spent a good 20 minutes setting up a fancy "Empire Strikes Back" texture for Shellie's shirt but it ended up barely visible.)

For sure- I think we've all met someone like Alexa at least once in our lives. They lack empathy in others... perhaps stemming from narcissism or a spoiled upbringing?

No, that might be a bit too outright evil for her character. But, I definitely think some degree arrogance and snark would suit her well.

This is very good... your character and her story continuation is turning out nicely! Man, to be the new girl at school and one with crutches with a casted foot no less.. awkward and doubly embarrassing... one for being the girl in a cast, and two for being a new student. Hopefully her phone didn't shatter when it hit the floor.. lol

I have to agree- Everyone always loves the body casts and wants to jump right in as if it's expected- but sometimes the small casts and their related incidents of emotion, awkwardness, lifestyle change and circumstances can be just as attractive.

Take the time you need to develop your story!
And I think not every story has to begin with a body cast. (Not every story needs a body cast actually. 
But if this story is going to end in a lot of plaster I won't complain!

Good advice my friend! A series of increasing stakes would also allow me time to build up a library of items to use.
(Right now this one contains pretty much my entire library so it's time to start building some new stuff)

Thanks! Yes this one took a bit longer than previous ones as it needed a large number of new props, environments, characters, and lighting to work properly.
I think the hardest part was getting the skin right because too much translucency and it looks waxy, and not enough it'll look like a lifeless mannequin.
(The test of this was shining that tiny bit of sun on her toes to really see the subsurface scattering)
