Another work from one of my classes this semester, this time the painting class. This was our final homework assignment for the watercolor section of the course, and the theme was to make an "allegorical self-portrait". That said, I really don't think the teacher understood what she meant when she gave us the assignment, because really the only requirement was to pick a theme that represents us, and to make some sort of self portrait out of it while using different mediums and textures. I chose the theme of inspiration, because all of the other ones I was hoping to take were already used by other people in the class. Oh well!

I used a mix of wet on wet watercolors, wet on dry, a sea sponge on wet ink with dried colors under it for the background, and then a spray bottle and some ink drops on top of that.

I'm not especially happy with how it came out, mostly because I didn't have the time to put into it that I wanted to have, but I think it turned out well enough regardless. Once I get it back, I'll fix it up some more.

Feels kind of like a sibling piece to this other project I did for my Figure Drawing class!
