Wait that's a girl!? I thought she's a boy when I saw the animation...

The tiki mask and the Gluttony voodoo doll are awesome. I think she should have some kind of war paint though. Do you think that would distract too much from the mask?

The reason I dropped the war paint was because she already has a very high line mileage; I'd have to draw the war paint over and over again. That's partially why I made the decision for her mother to wear almost nothing, in order to decrease her line mileage.

I like how their color schemes are linked together. You can see the progression from Conquest to War to Famine.

Hey, I really liked the older version of her (v.1), even though you discarded it. I understand why... but you can use thad design for other purposes.
It made me think of a younger Mama Nature, maybe? xD
All of these character developments are amazing!

The king who wants to conquer does so through war--whether by riding in and taking a country by force (like Alexander the Great), or through subtler means of destroying a country from within and taking advantage of the resulting power vacuum (like Hitler). So many times the conqueror does indeed come before war; you just don't realize it until war is already upon you.

Conquest is the first Horseman of the Apocalypse, which is followed by War, then Famine, then Death. I'm not sure I understand the question.

Well, logically, you have to have a war to have a conquest... Oh well. Who said religious creatures were logical, eh *shrug*

But you want conquest first. War follows as a result of wanting to take something.

Beautiful job on all of these. I really like the different designs you play with and the reasons for choosing one or the other. I love the colored one at the bottom with the mask over her face. I would definitely run from that child.

These designs are fascinating to see. I love not only seeing the process you go through, but seeing your sketches, too. Very inspirational.
If I had any feedback on War, it would be that I really like her over all design. The mask is a great touch, imo, and I think giving her a weapon really solidifies her as aggressive, etc.
However, I personally think that the shortness of her neck makes her look tense and kind of hunched up in posture. It makes her look a little less fierce and confident.
The early sketches that have a slightly elongated neck have a more predatory look to their posture, even if I like the finalized costume and face design more. I imagine part of it is also balancing her not looking too old, but it's a thought...

I'll keep the neck length in mind, thanks. I could easily change a detail like that for the final animation.

Awesome! I love the idea of the mask and the voodoo doll.
If I may make a strange suggestion I got as I saw the voodoo doll, I though, to make it noticeable, but free her hand of it, to have the voodoo doll tied with vine around the neck draping off of her waist like a primitive belt , like she tied it there for safe keeping
Excuse my ramblings Best of luck, Sak!

The voodoo doll is only for this picture, in the animation she won't have it on account of it just increases her line mileage too much.

Good choice on the colors. The dress especially. In general, I was finding all the light brown colors to be too bright for this character. :/

Ah, I'll miss her first head design. The spear is a brilliant idea though. Pity she couldn't look as in ver#1, coz now she's a little too cute for a War - as for me ; )

Pffffffffftttttt I absolutely love her little voodoo plush. xDD
Also, my love of masks doens't help with disliking this char at all.

I think i'd prefer the first version, without the mask. It makes her look... quite heavy, and all line are pretty vertical.
However, it's a good design, of course!! n.n
