i like this one - so clear and with a nice colour mood...
i wanted to look at your oil paintings, but couldn't find them in your gallery - why don't you upload some of them? i'm sure there are a few nice ones...

Here is the one I have loaded already:

This particular one I like because I was able to get a really vibrant red, by starting off with a clear glazed Masonite panel.
Last year in January (2012), I had two disk crashes in the space of one week, and I lost all the pictures of my oils. I have not recaptured them. I have been thinking of taking pictures of some of them again, but mostly lack motivation and and good lighting.
Thanx for the kind comment, Diet!

Sometimes I like minimalism; sometimes I don't!

Nice to go back to the primitives every once in a while. Conversion of angles through the hidden intersection spots too, though I might be the only person in the world that would notice that
Well it works on all but one line - eight if you assume symmetry - which appears to go nowhere... the fourth line on the edge from either corner, (unless it is going to the edge of the squares.)
Maybe I'm over-thinking this

Well, each color/style was on a different layer. I did a 4-fold manual re-do of the image line design before adding all the effects. I use a 135* lighting angle, which lights each line and space a bit differently. However, the light inclination angle differs according to the layer style, which may be the difference in the designs. It shows up on a pure geometric design like this one. But I like the "almost symmetry" as a way to create a bit of drama and uniqueness in each Kaleidoscope folding, to keep the "artistic license" in my work.
I do study the designs up front, and the final image, both a great deal for tweaking at the end. However, I always find things after uploading I might do a bit differently at a later time; however, they are usually minor changes.
You probably are over-thinking my work, sometimes. But that is OK, because I enjoy seeing my work through another artist's eyes. It gives me afresh approach to my newer stuff.
Thanx, Daniel! I do appreciate your comments, views, your work, and most of all, our conversations!

Barb, thank you for the nice comment!
I wish I could make some of these in other media too! Maybe when I win the lottery!
