Description
Water is one of the hardest items to paint because it is moving, clear and also reflective. Plus, it also changes form at near room temperatures, from a solid (ice), to liquid (water). Then with the correct conditions, it evaporates and makes fog, clouds and humidity. All of these items make most malleable water one of the most illusive items to image. This is my attempt at a waterfall with a sunset sky, and fog! Please do tell me what you find good and bad in it, please!

I had Niagara in mind, but I needed to do it differently because of the shy I made first!
Thank you so much!

I agree, but it turned out well, I think the color of the frame takes away from the water.

Thanx, Cy. The sky needed a balance I just could not get in the water. It really does look better with the frame, IMHO, and I did spend a lot of thought in what to do.
Had the camera point been farther back from the falls, to be able to do a reflection, I would not have been close enough to get the details of the water flow around, in its environment. I also wanted a position that would allow the viewer to see the fog and spectral colors as well.
Like I said, it is a very difficult topic to paint. Thanx for the suggestion. If I were more attuned to doing Cubism-style perspective, perhaps I could have incorporated your suggestion. Do you have others? Thanx

I agree with the frame ,I was thinking not Cuban, but more of a texture, maybe pebbles in a sea green?/ Just a thought, have a grand week!!!

Just so we are clear on "Cubism", here is an excerpt from the Wikipedia article on "Cubism":
From the section onΒ Intentions and Interpretations: Β en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cubism#Iβ¦
"The concept developed inΒ Du "Cubisme"Β of observing a subject from different points in space and time simultaneously, i.e., the act of moving around an object to seize it from several successive angles fused into a single image ('multiple viewpoints' or 'mobile perspective'), is now a generally recognized phenomenon of the Cubist style."
