ADOPTION RULES & GUIDELINES

It's time. My first ever character adopt/tryout for DotW!

1. You must be a member of Domain-of-the-Wolf
2. You must have the number of bones necessary to purchase a new character and all of your existing characters must have bone-worthy activity for the month.
3. Draw the character in your style but do not put it on Riverfell’s application sheet.
4. You are free to tweak/adjust the design if you’d like! In contrast with her sister Kara, Heather was intended to look more like their father, Morgan -- but feel free to play around with a new design, too.
5. Please write a full bio for Heather like you normally would when creating an application for DotW. Some rough details about her life can be found below.
6. Only submit your entries to stash! Please do not submit them to your DA gallery.
7. Heather’s name cannot be changed, as it is referenced in a lot of Shiloh and Morgan’s history.
8. I will likely be prioritizing people who are not yet in Riverfell, but will still consider current/past Riverfell members.
9. Heather will be returning to Riverfell and her position as Master Sage! More information about that is below, but just know you would be applying for the highest ranking Sage position within the pack and would be expected to know, embrace, and expand upon Riverfell’s lore, herbology, and rituals when necessary (we would work on this together, of course -- you won’t be expected to come up with all of that on your own). Heather would be responsible for leading/guiding the other Sages and performing things like the Heart Stone/Passing ceremony, weddings, etc.

IMPORTANT : Because this rank and character are both so vital to Riverfell’s culture, in the event you can no longer stay within the group, I must reserve the right to repossess this character and adopt her out to a new player. She cannot be taken or removed from the pack without coordinating her potential replacement and discussing with me first. DESIGN INFLUENCES
Heather was intended to look more like Morgan, while Kara looked like their mother, Rose. You can play with this idea if you’d like!

HEATHER FACTS & PRE-HISTORY
Daughter of Morgan and Rose, sister to Kara, and Aunt to Shiloh, she is considered a member of the “old guard” of Riverfell along with Lyza, Deon, Jed, Mutt, Howl, Sasha, and Bourne. Heather was intended to be nearly the opposite of her sister in every way. Gentle in nature and accepting of her place within Riverfell, she followed in their mother’s footsteps by becoming a Sage and embraced a life of servitude to the teachings of Siamsa and guidance from the stars.

Heather and Kara were very close as children, but grew apart as Kara pursued her dream of becoming Riverfell’s first Gold Feather. Their bond was reignited after the events of Kara’s pregnancy and loss of her rank, though Heather was never able to convince Kara not to run away. She missed her sister dearly and always hoped she would return one day. It was devastating for her to learn that Kara never survived, though her heart is full knowing that Shiloh lives on in her stead.

Morgan and Heather had a far less turbulent relationship when she was a child. He has always respected his youngest daughter’s desire to learn the ways of the Sages. He was also immensely proud to learn of her promotion to Master Sage when he returned to Riverfell with Deon a few months before Shiloh’s arrival. Rose had always known she possessed such greatness.

Heather carries the burden of knowing her mother’s end. After falsely claiming responsibility for Pyre’s death in an effort to clear Morgan’s name, Rose was sentenced to be executed. Before said sentence could be carried out, however, she took her own life -- with the help of her herbs and closest family members; including Heather.

In Kara’s absence, Heather’s future relationship with Shiloh will be very close and maternal. She will serve as Shiloh’s closest connection to her mother and will attempt to help Shiloh on a spiritual level by teaching her of Siamsa and the significance of the stars. She will be Shiloh’s “spiritual guide” and connect her with that aspect of Riverfell that has always been absent from her life. Riverfell’s lore is still in development, but Heather and her return will ideally be a huge bridge that will work to reintroduce it back into the pack.

Heather grew up with Howl, Sasha, and Jed, so they all share the same memories and trials of their generation.

WHERE HAS SHE BEEN AND WHY IS SHE BACK?
Heather left in pursuit of a spiritual journey/sabbatical just before Shiloh’s arrival. She was guided South by the stars and followed in the footsteps of Riverfell’s ancestors as they were led to safety beneath the watchful eye of Siamsa. As both the journey and the terrain became more treacherous, however, Heather fell while attempting to cross a narrow bridge between two canyons. It was a miracle she survived, but the injury to her hind leg meant she could not continue nor return to Riverfell on her own. Barely able to walk or properly care for herself, she survived just long enough to be discovered by the last wolf she ever expected to see so far South -- Jedrek .

Jed revealed Shiloh’s return, much to Heather’s shock and delight. He offered to help her return to Riverfell, and in exchange, requested she speak with Shiloh about allowing him to rejoin the pack. Heather agreed and the two spent the Winter within the canyons, avoiding the worst of the Deep Freeze and waiting for the dawn of Spring before attempting to leave for home.

She believes she was sent South of the Domain for a reason, but because she never completed her journey, she will never know why. This haunts her at times. What were the spirits trying to tell her?

MY IDEAS FOR HEATHER
These are just a few ideas I had about the character while designing the rest of her family over the years. Whether you decide to go with these or not WILL NOT influence my decision on picking your application. These are just for fun! (this list may grow as I think of things, too, just FYI)
Heather and Jed aren’t exactly “friends,” but share a sense of camaraderie because they grew up together and endured a lot of the same trials of Riverfell’s former culture. Heather secretly pities and empathizes with Jed (which he feels and hates) and blames the patriarchy for making him into the male he is today. Jed, meanwhile, isn’t a fan of Heather. lol She’s kind and good and devout and helped encourage his only son to pursue a task he did not approve of. Some part of him blames her for ruining Mutt. I’m interested in expanding upon their relationship further since they DID spend a decent amount of time together during the Deep Freeze!
