Woo! Awesome comment regarding Public Domain! It's great to see something like that these days. Unfortunately, not all jurisdictions respect the public domain, since some areas restrict the waiving of moral rights etc etc.
However, if you've been paying attention [link] , the Creative Commons project has been developing the CC-0 license [link] , which is supposed to create an "official" "Public-Domain" "license." Hopefully CC-0 will pick up enough to be up there with the big six.
Oh, and by the way, I like the badges.

thanks! yeah, I'm aware of the cc0 and use it on my Flickr account (here I mostly use a zlib-like license nowadays)
also I'm far too lazy to update my old descriptions ^^
since you're into linux and open source, perhaps you'd like to get into some free software game dev ? oh, and stay clear of that nasty copyright infringements ;-D

Those GIF's have a small degree of historical relevance, as they were my first contributions to dA.
Plus, they have the most faves of any of my works. If I got rid of those, my fav count would go down. O_O
I've been making Free Games as a hobby since I started college, but thanks for the link. I might find some fun projects to hop into. I've recently been using Pygame [link] and I've got a few (as in one) games on my site. [link]
I've got the programming know-how, but my attention span is too short to make a full game.
