This is a Master Copy of Vincent Van Gogh's Painting "Starry Night Over the Rhone" This photo is no where near as good as my actual painting, and my painting is nowhere near as good as the original, but I really liked this painting and had to do it. OK, I'm also new to oil painting and this is fantastic! I have a lot of difficulty with subtlety and distance work, you've done a great job on the shading!

I bet! I haven't even tried painting with a palette knife yet. I'll have to choose a painting one of these days and give it a try...

I didnt even know Van Gogh used a palette knife! I was just gonna use my brush until my teacher told me that he used his knife for most of the painting. Personally I hate the fact that oil paints dry so slowly.. they wrecked my coat when I was bringing it back and forth from my class T-T

I know. I had to put a studio in my basement for that reason. Studio sounds so much better than "easel in the corner with an old glass-topped coffee table...."
I'm sure you also go through a ton of paint with the knife too.
