Description

A lot of my photo series are about a struggle growing up and coming to terms with losing a youthful childhood that one is accustomed to living.  Photographing young women is definitely when I get that feeling most, the feeling of a  transition that some welcome and some are hesitant about. Starting off with light and frilly confectionary styling, she seems to be holding onto a young childhood that is already past.  I love Makayla's eyes because they have a sadness to them when she's not smiling, and she portrays emotion really well throughout this series! As the series ends, she's pictured in black, still a lacy top, but much more sensual than her beginning outfit.  There's a maturity and a realization in this set.  Even if she wants to stay a little girl forever, she can't.

Vision

Originality

Impact

Subtle, yet stunning capture of a beautiful woman, with nature's gift, of eyes that provide much more than vision. The set and setting has little or no impact to draw the viewer away from this model's hauntingly marvelous natural gifts. This is wonderfully present regardless of choice of color or black & white presentation. The photographer choices display a reserved intensity so much so that this viewer was immediately drawn in. This set with Makayla has several examples of the gift of vision by the photographer, to compose works, that show the depth, of the souls present at that moment. Thank you
