A selection of these images were published in Coco Magazine's April 2013 Issue 15 Part III, this was one of the ones that was included. The editorial is titled "Secret Garden."

I've said this about a few editorials from this year, but this is one of my favorites, and one that I can say was really close to my heart. When I was a little girl, one of my very favorite movies was The Secret Garden (the 1993 version, of course!). It's one of those things that I cite as an inspiration to my photography all of the time, and it's probably why I am so intent on creating these magical and natural worlds for my characters to inhabit. It's actually slightly disturbing when I consider how much that movie (and the book as well) incorporates some of my favorite subjects: gardens, nature, birds, keys, young girls, growing up, swings, and not to mention the poofy skirts Mary wears in the movie. So, this shoot was inevitable!
