My first drawing in what? Six months? and its Prideshipping, more so a fic i never even planned on doing ^^' Originally, i planned on doing a prideshipping piece that was completely different but the more i thought about it, the more i wanted to do a sequence that was in steps, so this was the first piece.

The purpose of this peace was to create a three-part series of romantic pics between Seto and Yami that tell a story (you'll see what it is when i do the other two pictures) So i wanted this to be a sweet pic. With that in mind, i LOVE how Yami came out and I tried my damdest to make Seto look sweet but its so HARD! Do you have any idea how hard it was to find a picture of him smiling? Like REALLY smiling?

I intended to do all three of the drawings at once while working on Frost King's next chapter, but that didn't happen, so I got this one drawn in about a day and then do days later i started inking it but messed up in the chin lines so I decided to trace it in ink, which worked out really well except i screwed up Seto's chin so i ended up drawing two copies of this before finally coloring it Man did my eyes BURN! ain:

And then of course the scanning was worse: first i had to relearn how to use my brother's scanner, then it scanned upside down, then when i scanned the picture as was ready to upload it I realized I forgot to color the skin tones...so i deleted that picture, colored the skin tones and re-uploaded the image, in retrospect I'm glad I did because their skin tones were so GLARINGLY white by comparison.

The hardest thing for this pic was finding the poses so what i ended up doing was drawing too separate pictures of poses from doujinshi images and then sticking them together: I originally drew them both on one page, but OF COURSE I forgot to take the height difference into consideration and instead traced those images but with Yami shorter and inside Seto's arms. Seriously, I had to shrink Yami's image TWICE because for some reason it made Seto's head look so small, which is really funny if you think about it

I never thought i'd say this but i found it really easy to draw Yami's hair, the only hard part was keeping it from covering up Seto, and with that in mind, it was HELL drawing Seto's hair. I mean his bangs were so impossible to draw, they drove me nuts!

The coloring was a beast though. Especially since i left all my markers and stuff back at school, so i bought a new box of washable markers in 64 colors (biggest one I've got) and they worked really well, 'cept these are the kind of markers that if you press too hard, or take the marker off the page the shade of the color changes. My only regret is that i went back and redid Yami's highlights cause they bled over Seto's coat and when i did the background, i got green on his hair and when i went to fix it I grabbed the wrong yellow! Fortunately i managed to blend the colors enough that its no noticeble but i was THIS close to redoing the whole thing! Epic fail! isse off:

As far as the drawing and coloring goes, I'm really proud of Seto's eyes, especially since I've cheated with Yami's eyes (I've never drawn him with his eyes open ^^') and Seto has such striking eyes, so I'm really proud with how i got them. I know they're supposed to be brighter, but the blue I used was so pretty and looked so nice on paper I couldn't resist.

And before anyone asks me, I KNOW Seto's coat is supposed to be white, but i wanted more color so I used a timberwold gray marker than was the lightest thing I had and it worked really well. In all honesty, i only used that coat cause 1. its the one he wears the most and 2. It was the one in the bases I used. I also gave Yami a purple shirt cause i though red would be redundant, the black would bleed in with Seto's outfit and i thought that particular color looked great on him. the background color came cause, for some reason, i wanted to use green and the dark color really made everything pop and the parallel lined created a really great effect.

As far as the skin tones goes I used colored pencils and I wanted Seto to have a a darker skin tone since, with the exception of Egypt, Seto's skin is significantly darker than Yami's so I wanted to make sure that showed. I'm not sure how i like the shading on their faces, but overall it came out really nice.

Overall, I'm thrilled with this picture and I hope to get the other two done soon ^-^
