I think they find Garble's antics funny, if irritating. (Him usually getting his just desserts helps).
Plus, Caldera seems to be BIG even by dragon standards, so there's an intimidation factor in it.

It is a possibility, but they wouldn't need to. Her disdain for them would be on sight.
She's a good mother, especially by dragon standards. She's also pretty smart and reasonable when dealing with other dragons. But she hates ponies so much she could easily be a villain.
