I really don't know about that. I'm pretty sure there are plenty of decent dragons out there. We just haven't seen them.

If so, the MLP writers aren't doing them any favors. From what little we've seen of them, every dragon was depicted to either be ferocious, scary, just plain jerks, or even a mix of all three. Spike seems to be the only exception to the norm and that's probably because he was brought up in a more peaceful civilization.
