Description
Just an idea that I wanted to make a pic for!Next to Eowyn are actually three girls, all from a species that are similar to dullahans, but not quite the same. The redhead is named Nerys, the one in the green sweater is named Pearl, and the one in the red dress is named Idalia.
While Eowyn's head is detached from her body, both are completely her own to control. However, in this species, people are born either as heads or bodies. Bodies are much more common, so much so that heads were worshiped as sacred back in ancient times. This is also partially due to the fact that heads cannot move on their own. These days, heads usually end up in polyamorous relationships where they get absolutely spoiled by their partners. (They are also one of the very few races in modern times that rarely date members of other species.)
Also, the fact that Nerys only has two girlfriends is actually somewhat rare. The average is three to four.

This was made in Kisekae 2. I take no credit for the art itself, just their designs.

Oh, that's interesting! Are the bodies able to see, hear, speak etc. on their own or do they need help from a head? Anyway, these three are really cute!

The bodies can do basically everything (see, hear, eat, etc.), but cannot verbally communicate with anyone outside of their species. I haven't exactly figured out the fantasy logic behind it yet, but Pearl and Idalia can "speak" to each other and Nerys perfectly well. However, in order to communicate with anyone else, bodies either need a head or something like sign language.

I see. Then the heads must be really important as spokespeople and ambassadors to other species, huh?

Indeed!
A downside is that, no matter how adorable she is, you probably wouldn’t be allowed to hug Nerys (or any head for that matter). The bodies are understandably very protective.

Aww! As much as I'd like to hug Nerys, I can't say I blame them for being protective!

You can still hug Eowyn!
