Description
So, Willow and Dicey make their first appearance together. I sketched this out in my backup sketchbook, and I liked it too much to neaten it up. Then I scanned it in and fiddled with the contrast until I liked how it showed up. Nothing like how I'd planned it, but it has this pleasant feeling of movement. Here's my excuse for that shadow: It's symbolism. The darkness is threatening to swallow Will again; Dicey and her manic joy is holding it off.

I tried to break into your house on Friday night

I left my phone off of the hook on Friday night

I tried all week to figure why we had a fight

I imagine Willow and Dicey would be big fans of Bowling for Soup. It just seems to fit. Also, I see their friendship having similar qualities to an actual romantic relationship. That is to say, they act like a couple. Willow has a lot of masculine qualities to her (while still managing to be reasonably feminine.) Lots of people think Will's a lesbian. For the record, neither of them is. But Dicey still acts like her girlfriend.
