I'm running a game of Dark Heresy, and started a series of drawings for some of the allies and acolytes of the Inquisitor the party works with.

An Imperial Guardsman recruited from some feral back water of the Imperium. This is the infamous 'Scavvys' Arl, who for reasons too long to list off, was sent off to the Penal Legion to find his death in service of the God Emperor. Instead he found a better way to serve the Emperor. All the while, still being allowed to keep breathing - an idea he is particularly in favor of. 'Survive at all costs' kinda guy.

I plan on trying to attack all of these in three stages - first is the rough pencil sketch, then I'll be scanning and doing some pen work, finally I'll create a final black-and white with some minor shading.

General idea is the view looks up at him while he reloads his break-action Grenade Launcher as the city burns around him and in the sky, great fleets ply the night skies. Really looking forward on working with this one. Still not happy with the face though. Oh - and that's a trench club there hanging from his belt.
