Mafa'rinia Hive of the Neutral of Mafa'rinia, is the oldest among the four great insect races, with an age surpassing even that of Princess Celestia, spanning thousands of years. She is the queen of the Neutral of Mafa'rinia, revered by the world as the "Mother of Mercy" due to her permanent neutral status.
She is dedicated to the study of agriculture and planting, as well as finding ways to preserve food for longer periods. She selflessly aids nations and people facing starvation without expecting anything in return. For many races, it's puzzling why the Mafa'rinia Hive is so committed to agriculture and planting.
However, deep within the queen's heart lies a profound scar...
It happened in a distant era, long before Equestria came into existence, in the ancient times. Queen Mail'onivafka had been living peacefully with her children. At that time, the Mafa'rinia Hive hadn't focused on agriculture and planting but had strong habits of storing food. She led her children in storing enough food to sustain their entire population for a year. However, disaster struck.
The world entered an ice age, and suddenly the freezing temperatures froze the land. She ordered all her children back to the nest and sealed the entrance. The stored food was enough to feed the entire population for a year, and she hoped the ice age would pass quickly. However, time flew by, and three years had already passed. Their food had run out, and she watched as her children grew thinner from hunger. She was heartbroken but utterly helpless. Eventually, overcome by hunger, she fainted. Seeing their mother faint from hunger, all the children gathered around her. One of them said, "Feed Mother with my body later!" and then, with their pincers, cut their own neck. Tears streaming down their faces, the other children carried the body to the queen's mouth. Sensing food in her mouth, the queen instinctively chewed and swallowed the offering. As she gained energy, the queen slowly regained consciousness, only to witness the most brutal scene. Sobbing loudly, she held the sacrificed child's head tightly in her arms.
The next day, the queen refused to eat and forbade the children from self-harm. However, the children overwhelmed her. Before dying, one of them said, "Mom, I love you!" and then cut their own neck with force, instantly turning into a corpse. The queen, held down by the other children, watched her child commit suicide right before her eyes, as the others brought the body to her mouth. Refusing to eat, the queen tearfully pleaded, "Mommy, please remember her sacrifice, don't let her heart grow cold!"
With tears streaming down her face, after several struggles, the queen finally opened her mouth and consumed the child's body, her tears flowing incessantly. Thus, using their own lives to prolong their mother's life, the starving children would be decomposed, their bodies becoming the hope for the survival of the others.
Finally, the ice age came to an end, and the sun once again warmed the earth. The queen looked at the revived land, then turned to her twelve children by her side, tears falling once more. From a population of hundreds of thousands, only thirteen remained...
