Description
I made this with the help of a tutorial from the *very excellent* cartographer's guild [link] , seriously you can make realistic coastlines in like two minutes omg. A good map is a pretty essential part of any fantasy story amirite? So everything elf-related I work on, this is the setting, continent of Rethamnel, yessir yesma'am. It was incredibly fun indulging my inner geography geek. NEXT TASK, MAPPING OUT CITIES LULZnoteable crap:
- 6 cardinal directions (they follow leylines), north, hebwa, torreth, south, errist, anwa
- Nuanra Hexagon, a sort of magical bermuda triangle, all kinds of crazy shit is possible here
- map grid is Hexakis triangular tiling, [link] in case you doubted how much of a nerd I am
- Central Esterahad, largest city in Rethamnel pop. ~1 million
- Parthrizatown, Errikan's marginally swampy backwoods hometown :>
- the map scale is in miles, unless I change my mind 9__9
No I will not answer any questions about wether or not this stuff I work on will be published in any capacity and if so when XD Just consider it my artistic playground. For now ;3

Hey There I really like your artwork 10/10! I would just like to mention quickly that I have a gaming team set up of 9. We need more 3d and 2d artists for both conceptual and final artworks. We are a serious team looking for all gaming roles including GUI artists and others. The game is based over 4000 years ago and contains Vikings, Barbarians, Shaolin Monks and the Atlantians. Post a reply or send a note to me or email me on vxtream@gmail.com.
Thanks to all members who read this and please consider it as we do have many professionals involved.
Regards to you and all the Deviantart community,
The VisionXtream Team

Let me start by saying I really like this map, I haven't seen a custom compass rose before, but I do have two critiques. One, capitalize the city names and two some of the city names aren't creative like Maxmanaville. I get the reference, but In the midst of all these otherwise realistic names Maxmanaville seems out of place. I hope to see more maps from you.

Hi!
Me and my crew were really enjoied by your work.
So we wanted to ask you if you could do a map for our new italian RPG game online based on the film βAvatarβ by James Cameron.
We can't offer you money, but your name, and the link of your page in DA, will be exposed on the site as a thank you.
Could you do this for us?
This is my e-mail address: alotahels@live.it

Richly detailed and utterly believable - so, will this stuff ever be publ.....oh! sorry
Seriously though it is an awesome achievement and I try not to over-use the word "awesome" too many times, much preferring to replace it with "spendiferous" whenever I can, and as splendiferosity goes, this is IT.

That is a truly STUNNING map! Thats just as good as, or better, than most maps I've seen in RPG game manuals, PC games, or anything like that. And yes, maps ARE rather essential to any fantasy setting. It makes things feel a bit more real right?
