Description
Before I start, not too long ago, I got my hands on a couple of artist figures (male and female) off of ebay. For this drawing, I used the female one as the foundation for Lupe's pose and figure for the most part. The female figure itself looks like this [link] and if you have the money, I REALLY recommend buying the pair as these figures kick the crap out of those wooden drawing mannequins. Seriously the best artistic investment I made so far.Now on to the actual drawing. I decided to give Lupe a slight redesign as shown here with and without her trademark jacket. It's not really much, so what I did was made her hair a bit more "spiky" in the back, gave her one of those sleeveless turtleneck tops instead of a regular shirt, and gave her some slight midriff exposure along with a slimmer belt. I also altered her figure a bit as she is now more slender looking and muscle toned (at least slightly). More "woman-like" now in a way.
With all the changes I've made, Lupe actually looks a couple of years older as a matter of fact. Either that, or my skills in proportion improved a bit. In any case, any thoughts on the changes?

CURSE MY LATE COMMENT HABBITS! CURSE YOOOOOUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!
[/Weekenders reference]
Anyways, taking a look between your old reference sheet and this, this is definitely a large improvement in her design, even though the changes were very slight. The buff in muscle tone suits her well, considering her hands are gorgeous yet manly enough to choke Pepito and Juan with anytime they do something stupid Also, them anatomy skills are getting sharp, bro~ :3

lol, speaking of late comment habits, welcome to my world. Sometimes it does take me a few days to respond as well. Don't worry, it's a temporary habit, as far as I know.
After putting myself through a crash course in anatomy AND human proportion, my style started to look better when I applied the head trick for proportions (as in using head length to determine the measurement of EVERYTHING on the human body). I've been eyeballing my characters' proportions all this time, believe it or not. Then after constructing a chart for the exact measurements of my characters, I started to get perfect stylized proportions every time.
And thanks. Since Lupe pretty much fits the Action Girl trope, she really needed some muscle tone to back all her swag up. It really does pay to base your style off of real human bodies instead of looking at anime/manga/cartoon bodies like alot of kids do unfortunately. Anyway, I'll probably draw Clara next to see what she would look like with the new proportions and anatomy. She's supposed to have an Amazonian-like stature originally, so drawing her a bit taller would be fun.
Now that I have improved, my drawing skills went from Ganta Gun to Ganta Gun Mark 2!

Thanks, man. Just knowing that I'm improving means that I'll be able to make it as a professional one day
