Cool creature! Is that a helmet he's wearing? Love the touch of the belled collar...

So cute ^_^ I love the design and expressive color! Very regal as well, and they look like they'd be fun and ready for exploring. Very cool piece!

BOOM!
YOU TOTALLY NAILED IT!
And you did it so good it clearly shows that this can´t have been a real challenge for you.
So of course I cannot really expect it to really have worked the way I had imagined when "challenging" you,but still, have you come up with idea for a name?
Maybe when colouring, even before when considering what colors to use,did you have any kind of backstory growing,by any chance?
If you didn´t have an idea yet, that might be a starting point.
On the other hand I´d be perfectly happy with providing you both,if wish me to (and grant me the honour)I can´t stop my mind making such things up anyway.
So in fact,I´d even already have one at hand..GEEKGEEK.

Thank you very much!
(but next time I'm gonna tape it to the table so that the paper doesn't bulge like this. Oops )
No, I still don't have a backstory or a name to this creature
So of course you can tell me what's on your mind. Let's hear your ideas!

Well, what you see here, drawn by your hands although not knowing what it was, is magic at work, you could say.
It´s a Californian Firegrimp,a rare sight even among the already rare magical creatures. It is not known how these biological creatures developed having a metal bodypart, what is known is that they begin growing the head ornament around an age of three to four years and is fully developed at an age of around twelve years.
It is said that the head ornament is what enables a Firegrimp to cause highpowered electrical discharges in its vicinity.
Although there have been rumours a Firegrimp would use this ability to hunt prey, but it is generally taken as granted that Firegrimps are herbivores.
That being known,it can be assumed it uses it for defensive purposes. The name Firegrimp most probably emerges from the woodfires they cause on a regular base.
However the electric discharges are rather a side effect of the telekinetic powers a Firegrimp is able to employ. How and why Grimps have developed this ability throughout their way in evolution,is subject to multiple speculations, but it´s a commonly accepted theory among biologists that they are firmly connected with the head ornament.
Their appearance is generally the one of the above specimen, but sightings of variations in fur color have meanwhile been credibly confirmed.
There are said to be darker hues of the shown specimens fur color, all the way to a deep reddish tone, similar to but still darker than a European squirrel´s.Rumor has it there are also even darker variations, reports of speciments approaching a strong violet tone and even pitch black ones are but considered to be strongly exaggerated.
The idea of taping the paper to the table is a good thing,I must remember to do that as well whenever I might color something with aquarilic colors again.Still, the bulges give the viewer a distinctive hint of authenticity.
Hope you like the little story

That story...IS PERFECT!
It makes me wanna do some sort of one-page comic thing about it!
Not that likely I will (at least not yet), but if I do you get credit for story and name of course
