Description
Current WIP, been workin on it off and on for a week or so now. Still abit to do (add something connectin the control engines, add detail to the front repulsorlift engines, add a working handlebar and guages n stuff)with that in mind, constructive crit is always welcome
(didn't like how I rendered the AA so I'm going back to the method I use to render most stuff)
Modeled in Blender (126,000 polies so far)
Rendered Yafaray (Might end up making this a cell shaded model if I like it alot, and render it in blender with a particle system for engines and stuff... haven't decided yet)

All hail blender. Are you gonna texture this in Blender as well? I thought about texturing some of my work but I just didn't even know where to start

Just took a jog through you're gallery, not bad (I particularly like the abstracts, which I would say don't need textured) but I see you don't know where to start with the ship. I say procedurals, generate a nice bump map for further armor plates (I'd say practice with texture nodes, modify a brick pattern with something, I'd tried several times haven't come up with anything awesome, but maybe you'll figure it out and share?) a spec map showing off the ships many scars, and then generate an auto uv to map those to. After all that's done start a new uv layer and come up with a paintjob, then only map out the parts you need to paint. Takes abit of work but in the end looks nice

hmm The whole UV thing has been throwing me as far procedure. I just need to spend more time on those really. any good tutorials for all that mapping?

y'know, I opened my tuts folder and didn't see any on uv's XD if you've grasped the basics this one is pretty informative (just used it actually, lol) [link] otherwise check the blender noob to pro wiki, there's all the tutorials you could ever want listed there.

I finished this, and sadly no textures (I didn't fully understand all the texture options I could have used on this when I "finished") I tried to re-open and convert all the materials from Yafaray to blender again, but it wasn't coming out very well (and yafaray doesn't like my win 7 X64 bit) But you can see where I left off here [link]

neither can I... there's just that little problem of "finishing" it... you see, that actually requires work, :/ wish it didn't though XD
