Description
The phoenix was sketched then scanned and colored in photoshop using the soft brush, smudge, dodge, and burn tools. The flames were made with the smudge tool and color swaths smudged into one another. The lightning ring was created by extracting the iris veins of an eye and creating a brush from the extraction. The runic circle is from stock brushes. The background is created from Jashin-stock brushes brushset9 and shadow-brushset7 using various orange hues and black shadow overlays.This image was created for the environmental website Phoenixlives.org. That looks great. Only one problem, it's too good. Looks like a lot of work in a short time. That's not saying how long is a short time to me.

I think you spent a lot of time working on it for a week, and to me that is a short time. I have a lot of pictures I started, and didn't finish in 6 months. Bear Play is only one of them, and I added one thing 6 weeks ago.

That's beautiful. The red and gold coloring is stunning. I think that the golden ring would stand out a bit more if the background was a bit darker.
