Description
Well, in the midst and aftermath of hurricane Rita I found that I had alot of time on my hands with no electricity. This meant at night I had pretty much no kind of entertainment, but to light an oil lamp, listen to the radio on my single set of C batteries with the windows open in the stiffling heat. SO, as I was listening to the radio I shuffled around in the dark and managed to come up with 4 sheets of blank typing paper and 2 mechanical pencils and I set to work on drawing a storm dragon of sorts. This is a total of about 3 nights work first for the outline then for all the shading effects all done by the light of an oil lamp and a couple of candels. I didn't have any dragon anatomy references. I just used memory from amphibian dissections, and I'm sure it shows. However, I'm rather fond of this drawing because just looking at it makes me think of how fortunate I am to have a home and basic necessities when so many people still do not. I guess the dragon represents the hurricane and the people fleeing their homes the people who had to evacuate. Red dragons live in volcanoes and hence the awakening of this mighty red caused the volcano to erupt and destroy the homes of the people living below the mountain. I'm sure after being asleep for many thousands of years he is probably hungry and will attack some of the villagers fleeing their homes. Is this really a natural disaster or just a dragon making it look like a natural disaster?Related content
