This is an entry for 's Mystic Tarot Card contest deadline July 31st.

The central image is that of Asha a character I created in photoshop 7.

The amazing flowers are from Cotton Candy flowers that I adjusted using the brightness and contrast and hue and saturation settings in photoshop. They really give this peace a nice contrasting burst of colors.

The beautiful realistic Siamese cats and the angelic halo are from These are some of the best cat renders I have seen on dA. The halo is from Dana's staff pack that I adjusted the colors with using the hue and saturation settings in Photoshop.

The black filigree side brushes are from She has some pretty nice stock brushes in her account.

The white spatter brushes are fom She has lots of neat things in her gallery.

Basic Tarot Meaning

"How can you mix fire and water?" the Fool finally whispers. Never pausing the Angel answers, "You must have the right vessels and the right proportions." The Fool watches with wonder. "Can this be done with all opposites?" he asks. "Indeed," the Angel replies, "Any oppositions, fire and water, man and woman, thesis and anti-thesis, can be made to harmonize. It is only a lack of will and a disbelief in the possibility of unity that keeps opposites, opposite." And that is when the Fool begins to understand that he is the one who is keeping his universe in twain, holding life/death, material world and spiritual world separate. In him, the two could merge, as in the vessels that the Angel uses to pour the elements, one to the other. All it takes, the Fool realizes, is the right proportions....and the right vessel.

It is hard, at first, to see where Sagittarius, the ruling sign of this card, fits in. Sagittarius is the sign of the zodiac that is represented by an archer that is half man and half beast. Sagittarius is an expansive sign and Temperance is, on a surface level, about "tempering." The original pouring from cup to cup might have been about cutting wine with water. So this is a card about moderation. There is, however, another angle to the card, that of merging seemingly impossible opposites. Temperance may be, at first glance, a warning to the Querent to "temper" their behavior, to cut their wine with water. But it may also be a reminder to the Querent that seemingly irreconcilable opposites may not be irreconcilable at all. Belief that fiery red and watery blue cannot be merged may be the only thing standing in the way of blending the two. Change the belief, measure out each with care, and you can create otherworldly violet.

I chose Asha the dark angel to represent temperance because she is made of both the light and the dark and is the right vessel to contain each. When mixing the light with the dark you get the beautiful shadows. I also chose the color maroon for this card because as a secondary color you can only get maroon if you mix the right amount of black and red. The sword is made of steel. Steel is an alloy of the elements iron and carbon mixed in the right amounts they create a metal of incredible strength. Also to use a weapon one must exercise moderation and self-restraint.

The cats are a reminder that too much or too little of one element or another may not be a good thing. Cats tend to have too much curiosity. Thus the saying, curiosity killed the cat. They need to excercise a little self-discipline.
