Slowly fading into darkness
While trying to find the light.
Thinking God would take pity
On my narcissistic plight.

Left alone in a broken world
To find meaning in my life.
How can I find peace in this place,
Through all my pain and strife?

I'm hurt beyond belief
And I always feel despair.
Friends try to ease my grief,
But it's like they aren't there.

My past comes back to haunt me
When I've finally forgotten.
It can make a perfect day
Just seem perfectly rotten.

Why taunt me in this way?
It's not kind or even fair.
Life's not fair they always say,
It's as though you do not care.

"Why have you forsaken me?"
Your son said on his cross.
If you turned your back on your son,
Then my only hope is lost.
