the Malefor Project started when the arkeyan mining excavation where working around the area where Malefor last battle with Cynder and Spyro. As the drills where going deep in lands core they stumbled across some rare gem. it had odd glow and gave off high energy reading like they never fleet before. Right away the gem was sent to the Arkeyan Ship 'The Dying light' as the one who found it presented it to the WarLord. The WarLord took this gem and felt not just it power but a presents inside of if. The gem was then taken to the Another Arkeyan ship "The Rapture" as the arkeyan researchers study and examined the stone, after mouths of test there results where shocking. this gem had the Dragon known as Malefor soul trapped inside. When the WarLord got this information he right away started a project called Arkeyan Malefor.
they some how found way to turn Malefor person into a power sources and freeing him at the sametime by constructing him a new body. the energy from the gem would be his power core and his soul would be used as the control.

the First MaleFor Project went out of control as He was confused and in rage as he was yelling out Spyro Name damage the the dying light trying to brake free but the WarLord stopped the raging Dragon as he took on Malefor and as bashed him to the ground and ripped out gem from his chest. for while the project was on hold do to Heavy Damage on the ship and repairs where need. once the ship was fixed the body and gem where Sent to more secured place where they could fix the error they made and this time try to make Malefor aware on what was going on. they where waking him up slowly. Once MaleFor was awaken he didn't go in rage in fact the first thing he did was get off the operating table and looked at his new body and then turned looking at the Arkeyan WarLord and said, "Where is Spyro and Cynder?"
