You've certainly evolved with regards to your backgrounds! Nearly a year ago, you published your piece One Evil Arcanine , which had a very similar style of background. I recall you mentioned that you wanted to incorporate a more painting-like style to your backgrounds, and that desire shows in the evolution between pieces.

The original background is sharper, with the fire of explosions having defined outlines and the smoke being solid colors covered in gradients. The definition was a very clear and comic-like, similar to your typical style.

This piece is less defined with its edges, with blending colors together to form edges. The smoke still seems as dynamic and explosive as before, but instead has a dusty, grainy texture reminiscent of oil crayons. There is also less usage of black on the flames compared to the original, making it look more similar to a fiery star .

I do hope you've become more confident with drawing backgrounds. Your recent gallery shows that you have put a lot of work into honing your skills, as difficult as it may be.
