Description The L1A1 SLR, Imperial pattern variant of the Fabrique National FN-FAL. Nicknamed "the Right hand of the Free World" and perhaps the most widespread 7.62mm NATO firearm of the 20th century. All these nano-suits and modern technology be damned, this is a proper firearm, from when we cowered in fear, waiting for Mother Russia's ICBMs to rain down.

High poly model, and blurb, by James G. Elmslie. 168,000 polys.

AWESOME! But Games dev art? theres no way a 20k poly gun model is going in game - never mind 168k . Just finished one of these myself in Sketchup, 7.8k polys and in game!

I take it you're aware of the method of High poly models being baked to low poly models? It basically allows little details to be shown up on ingame weapons that you couldn't get otherwise - its a standard method used in game/mod production now, at least by any 3D Artist wanting to make their work look amazing.

Anyway, yeah, thats why its 168K. I've come across stuff that is in the region of 1 or 2 million polys before - for a high poly model, this is relatively low!

And which game did you get that into?
