Description
This is 50% size of the original.Programs used: Blender, Photoshop, Painter (for textures and some figures), Bryce (for raw render) Poser, Illustrator (for creating a basis for things like flags).. Most of the time was spent in Photoshop, as my renders are generally pretty sparse for efficiency and flexibility...it is 2d after all...mostly it gives me a starting point for lighting the scene, basic composition etc.

A helluva lot going on in this piece!! I ;oved looking at different sections and aspects, and finding more. My fave little section? The tinyship below where the dragon is flying.

I almost tried to put some arrows (maybe flaming arrows?) coming up from the ship, but then I decided that the dragon would have been realistically out of range of even large ballistae much less bow and arrows. I also think, aside from likely not reading well, it would have changed the dynamic of the image, adding another arcing element which would then have to be addressed (changing the position of the dragon's head, for example). Also, the guys (even at full rez) on the boat are one fuzzy pixel in size, so it might be confusing where the projectiles originated from. I digress...you can still root for the guys on the trireme, I figure they will get the dragon if he gets caught in the netting...hehe

I Thought that ship had a "Jason and the Argonauts" config! Totally agree on the flaming projectiles idea, for all the same reasons listed. Yup, you chose well, oh wise one
