I adopted this little Harpy from Midnight197 and she was just perfect for the place of Skuttle in my Little Mermaid rewrite.

She is a member of the species that Midnight created that are called Talpas. I had still been debating having Skuttle as a real part of my comic when I saw this cutie so she gained roll which will be much different from in the movie. The Talpa magic is not quite the same as the magic of the Harpy's of the world but it is similar enough that she blends in smoothly with the world. Actually the Talpa species as a whole would fit in quite nicely in the Mermaid Scorned world now that I think about it...

Anyway as she is in this picture these are her "baby colors" as I dubbed it. They're dark and spotty to allow her hide easier. In the comic itself she is older than this being a teen rather than a young kid.

Skuttle is a bit scatter brained and she has a tendency to bounce around from subject to subject. Is very animated and people around her learn quickly to back off or duck least they be slapped by her wings. Unlike other Harpys she cannot sing to save her life but she still likes to try. She is very confident so confident that it often leads her into situations where she's in way way over her head but she has the gift of gab and if she can't talk her way out of a situation she can annoy people out of a bad situation.

Her magic is more aligned to water and wind though as the years go on her magic leans more toward water. She is completely coated in feathers save for half her legs and her face unlike other harpies who have no feathers on their face or necks as well as the hand parts of their wings as they are scavengers. Being not quite the same as the others she cannot eat already dead things so she hunts for her own food in the ocean which is how she met Ariel. She had been hunting when she caught a fish half her size which turned out to be a oceanic meridian which no one had seen for almost 1,000 years. They had been the best of friends ever since.
