Description
Important: Click "download" to get the full resolution picture. Here's the template I used for my ponycube. I'm not sure if the print size is saved in the PNG, but if it prints at the wrong size, just set it to print at 10 pixels per millimeter. If I were to make any changes to the template, I would darken Twilight Sparkle's background a little bit; it is easy to mix it up with Pinkie Pie's when solving.
To assemble your own cube, first remove the stickers on the cube that you wish to ponify. Since there was some residue remaining after I removed the stickers, I cleaned the sides with a little bit of rubbing alcohol.
After that, print out the template. If it worked correctly, each square should be 5.5 cm long. Take the printed template and coat it with a sheet of laminate. I used Fellowes Laminating Sheets to get a shiny, protective coating. If any small bubbles remain on the paper, take a small pin and pop it while smoothing it out.
Finally, you will have to cut out and attach the stickers to the cube. Definitely use a sharp blade and metal ruler to get the cleanest cuts. I used Scotch Permanent double-sided tape to attach them, although sticker paper may work better.

If you have a spare Rubik's Cube lying around, or are able to get one easily, it's a pretty simple project. Is it a problem getting the materials, or should I touch up the instructions a little?

I have no Rubik's cube. lol And I am broke, pretty much. Otherwise, it should be no problem.

I think this is by far one of the most awesomest things ever.
You have any color format suggestions?
I'm thinking: AJ-RD, FS-PP, Rarity-TS with a corner going clockwise as RD, FS, TS.
I'll repost when I try it out.

I'm glad you like the instructions! When I made my cube, I went with AJ-RD, PP-TS, and FS-Rarity, with a clockwise RD, FS, PP.
I placed white on bottom and yellow on top to preserve that part of the traditional scheme, but the rest had to change. I opted to keep FS and TS on opposite sides because having two similar colors adjacent to each other didn't look good. Sadly, that means that it's easy to mistake the AJ-PP piece for the AJ-TS piece. Besides that, the only other problem I have with mine is that the top PP sticker shares a piece with FS -- and both of them are 50-50 yellow pink. I like how mine looks on the shelf, but it isn't the easiest to solve (It takes me around 25 seconds before the center rotations.)

Nice. I'm going to buy a cube from Target or something. I've found that I like Rubik's brand cubes a bit better than some DIY's...

Good luck! My biggest problem with Rubik's brand is that they're too variable. My official cube is absolute crap, but my friend got one that was fantastic out of the box.
When you finish it, post a link to it on my page or send me a message -- I'd love to see it.

I've had the good fortune of some one giving me 2 rubik's cubes that they didn't want. They were sudoku cubes and they filled me with frustration. So I'm gonna get all the stickers off and make ANOTHER ponycube using this.

I'm ok with this.

Definitely doing this sometime! Now I just have to find a second hand cube that's extra cheap because the stickers are loose...
