you want critiques, I'll give you one: i really like what you did with the dragon, but when i first saw this picture and i didn't read your comments, i would have thought this was acrylic, because it looks like you treated it like acrylic. this picture would have been great as an acrylic, not really watercolor. now, i'm no expert on how to use watercolor, but i do know the basics, and the simple basics is that you have to treat watercolor like watercolor. in this picture, the colors are too harsh, you need to use more water with it (hence the name water color). i also see that some of the colors did bleed over, the best way to stop this is let it dry. watercolor is best to work with if dry when applying more color, if they do bleed, just get a paper towel and pat dry and make sure the paper is nice and dry before continuing. also in the lower right hand corner, i can see the paper curled, the best way to stop this is by put tape on all sides, so not only dose it have a crisp border, but it stops it from curling up 100% of the time. this is a bookmark i made with the tape: [link] its not the whole picture but you get the idea, i also love working with watercolor pencils, wet or dry, they are a must for fine lines and touch-ups.
i hope some of these tips help, because they helped me and my favorite media is watercolor. and my favorite watercolor picture so far is [link] , it has nice crisp lines, light colors and beautifully painted, i love it and its my inspiration every time i want to do watercolor. i hope these helps from a fellow watercolor-er to another!~
