It's weird how they are my 02 otp, tied with Takari and all. Kenkari is a pairing which takes time to warm up to, and it's a pairing that really brings out different facets of both Ken and Hikari, as compared to Takari, Daikari, Kenyako. Kenkari is a pairing where Hikari can truly express the gentleness of her nature- while for Ken it is a pairing where he gains a confidante who can truly understand how he feels- for they are bonded by a similar connection; the ocean. While none are as mentally strong as people such as Daisuke or even Takeru and Miyako; I see Kenkari as a pairing where they would find strength in each other to continue.
I feel that I'm currently unable to fully express my fondness and justification for Kenkari in my current state. Being down with a cold and being distracted by other pairings (Makari) of late. But this is also a pairing I adore greatly, and I hope people will come to like it too. There really isn't enough Kenkari here in deviantart, or on tumblr, or the internet in general; which was why I decided to contribute a little on impulse (after browsing the scarcely empty Kenkari tag on tumblr). It's kinda just a quickie, in which I pretty much skimped on poses or hands or anything except their faces in general- I didn't even make line art for this. Still, better something than none right?
This also marks the first Kenkari fan art I have drawn ever since I moved from my ~hikarinosekai account, it's a shame how I don't draw it more often- even though it's my 02 otp. I don't draw enough Takari as well, but it's not as much of a minority compared to Kenkari- so I think it's still able to self sustain itself for a while:'D But I should still draw Takari some time too, in any case:')

This is seriously one of the best Kekari fanarts I've seen
Admittedly, going into Season 2 I was an avid Takari fan. But then Ken came along and I found a website for every possible shipping fansite back then. I stumbled upon the Kekari fanclub and fell in love with the couple thanks to the fanart and fanfics.
In my mind they just click, they both were so different from the group and yet both of them saw the Dark Ocean. I thought she would be his light pulling him out of the dark and he would be her strength when she felt lost. I wish they could have explored this relationship a bit more.

Kenkari has been in my eyes ever since 2002. Kari was my favorite character from season 1 while ken was from season 2. The scenes where she helps him in his moment of darkness or when Kari told Ken to smile more often as he has such a cute smile which caused Ken to blushed. From that day on I shipped them I am saddened the couple is often overlooked or gets zero attention compared to kenyolei or takari.

Hehe that was one of the scenes that made me ship them as well; even though I guess there's quite a few other scenes that built up to me shipping it. I guess it's a lot more subtle compared to takari, and kenyako is endgame so I'm not surprised it's not as popular; since most go for the obvious stuff. But ah well, Kenkari still has a place in our hearts, so that's okay uwu (better little shippers than noneXD)

Agreed! I had gotten aboard the Kenyako wagon, and primarily ship them, but there are seriously more Daiyako hints in the series than any other pairing, and I really would have liked to see some better character development in terms of interaction.
I think Hikari and Ken can best understand them...one of my fanfics (currently on hold) is actually headed down a Kenkari route.
I'm a bit Takari fan (another reason I have trouble shipping Kenkari; because of Takari), but Kenkari is a sweet ship!
And, the drawing is great as is! Even without lines or any sort of holding hands or anything, the mood is perfectly captured! Nice work!

I think the same about Kenkari ;w; It's one of my current OTPs, with Daiyako xDD I felt like weird when I was rewatching ZeroTwo and I suddenly liked the realationship between Ken and Hikari on episode 31. Like I love how Miyako cares so much about Daisuke and tries to make him distracted when Hikari is talking to Takeru, and his opinion really is important to her.
Btw, I like how Hikari and Ken are the "opposites", she is the Light and he has the digivice of Darkness. It's an amazing combination and I think that they both could have an interesting development together .w. I mean... They fighting against their fears of darkness and that ocean. This ship is so rare I would like to see more ;w; (and I say the same about Daiyako, there's too much daikens and daikaris, but it's a bit rare find some daiyakos .w. People ship Miyako more with Ken or Iori... even Miyakeru (I don't like...) is rare to find too D: )
