I hated South Park when I first saw it. It was nothing but non-stop profanity, toilet humor and for the most part, the characters weren't very interesting.
But then somewhere along the way (Season 4?5?) Trey and Matt decided to start giving the show a little more depth. Now it boasts a brilliant mix of comedy (most notably it's dark humor), satire and social commentary as it responds quickly to cultural trends and current events.
Hell, if parent's weren't so damn conservative I'd nominate South Park to be the most educational and insightful show out there for kids/teens that isn't "lame".
Needless to say, I'm a huge SP fan.
PS. Would've finished this last night but I got caught up playing SEGA's Stormrise, which sucked. (probably because I had the PC version and my laptop fails so it sort of lagged)
PPS. Black outlines on the figures were intentional to flatten the illustration, homage to the cartoon's simplistic paper-cut-style.

This is awesome! You captured their personalities down perfectly; Kenny being Kenny, Stan being apathetic an dlevel-headed, Kyle and Cartman bickering incessantly... Cartman looks hilarious, by the way. : )

I already commented this, but, I don't care. I have to agree, I like the newer seasons better than the old one. Still, the old ones were funny, but I repeat, the new ones are way better.

Yes. The first few seasons were just trash with slight messages, but that's just because they knew that would get them on TV. Once established, it gave Trey more room to write real satire. He's really very smart and politically aware. It is amazing how he can package such important messages in tiny, construction paper boys who swear like sailors.
I love the Cartman x Kyle coupling (Stan x Wendy too) so I love to see those boys fighting. Haha, look at Kenny. He knows.

They look a little old for forth grade, but looks good.
I'm with you on the initial bad impression of the show though. I thought it was just profane and mindless garbage for a while, but it's actually very insightful. Not nearly so educational as animal planet, natgeo, bill nye, etc... but still great for the American public.
