Really, really love the lighting and colors on this one. And you portray his bloodlust so intently. I love it.

hehe
You got the pant seam wrong. it doesn't go with the folds and its not the right angle with the rest of the picture.
And the blood is a couple shades too light but EVERYONE gets that wrong.
The jacket doesn't crumple up by his waist, at least not as much as its supposed to. Also, there's just something wrong with where the edge of his jacket meets the skin. Not enough shadow? Too light? I don't know. something just strikes me as off in that spot.
One more thing. May I direct your attention to his Right sleeve? The clothe seems thicker on this sleeve then on the other one...???

But all in all, besides the minor mistakes that everyone makes, its an amazing picture. The angle is real good. I like how the lighter stuff is concentrated into one spot, making it into a really strong focal point. Great job with the chains. They lead the person's (lookers? observers? Watchers?) eye toward the focal point and body of Cain.
Great work of art!

Sorry, I noticed all the comments were 'really cool' and 'its amazing'
Thought I'd give you a break and critique something and this piece of art caught my eye. I really do love it. ^^

woah, is this common or something? O.o i have a character named Cain also and this resembles his second form clearly. the only two things different tho is that he doesn't like fighting (unless some1 has ticked him off) and he's not a blood freak lol

i guess Cain is just too common here.... i feel horrible that mine could be used famously before me and i would be sued later for copywrite...

and the name Cain wasn't coming from me...as I dun have any idea to name him(despite he's from one of the story that I made...)
It's one of my watcher who named him^^

I love the way that the tattoos help draw your eye to the muscle tone... only further instilling the idea that he's just strong and just crazy enough to cut your head off as soon as look at you.

And to the Mister-Sir or whatever person- and to everyone who sees this. If you're going to flame someone, you should wait until you're intelligent enough to do so properly. Such as bothering to use proper grammar, and to use something that perhaps is a little more well defined than the term 'gay'. On the one hand, this picture cannot be defined as gay, just because 'gay' can mean Showing or characterized by cheerfulness and lighthearted excitement; merry, which this artword defeinitely isn't, unless you're looking from the perspective of the subject then it can be, but otherwise, no. On the other hand, another definition of gay... well, if I was a male person who felt attraction to the same sex, who wouldn't feel an attraction to something that emoliciously hot? Clearly you're the one that looks like a window-licker right now.

It baffles me that there are still people out there that consider that word to be some form of insult. It's close minded and frankly, small potatoes.

Eyzmair-chan In reply to ForestSpiritAiia [2009-07-01 15:04:36 +0000 UTC]

yea, but try hard to get people from saying it. it really bugs that they can't get their minds away from the word...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ForestSpiritAiia In reply to Eyzmair-chan [2009-07-01 22:30:54 +0000 UTC]

It kills me how a word as innocent as all that can grow a stigma about it and then maintain that stigma long after the point is moot.

Ah! But then think of this, in basing your opinion on facts that you find to be true, in calling upon those facts in particular are you not also exercising bias by choosing to bring up those particular truisms rather than making a point to use examples of what the subject is not rather than what is or vice versa? Take this for example: we exercise bias by pointing out how well this art piece is done. We pointedly call attention to the positive, we could instead praise this piece by pointing out how it lacks the things we don’t like. β€œThis piece doesn’t have bright colors which puts it in a deeply felt ominous setting.” β€œThis piece has those nice dark colors that make it so ominous and deep.” Both of with are means to the same end and both of them are truths, we show bias to what is rather than what isn’t. So in some ways shouting that someone is biased can be in a small way, a truism.

lol, okay yea. i get what you mean now. i never really knew about that, nor have i ever considered that. you helped greatly! ^^ but, it just irked me when people say i'm using too much opinion (especially when they ARE good ones), so i choose to ignore them, but that also means i lost the debate right? lol. although debate is fun and i know that i'm in the right and not the other person (half of the time), it bugs having the liar to win. do you get that way?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ForestSpiritAiia In reply to Eyzmair-chan [2009-07-02 19:09:48 +0000 UTC]

Oh yes most definitely, though I don’t know if I would call the person I’m debating against liars unless they are actually hiding something then by all means they’re liars, but I don’t think differing opinions justify such a harsh label.

All people are entitled to their opinion and they are entitled to debate that opinion, it’s just the level of skill that person is able to debate that opinion and defend their beliefs that separates the small minded children from the adults that don’t share views. I think more people need to realize that grammar, spelling and vocabulary are strong weapons online, and if they want to go head to head with their unpopular view, they’d better have the wit to go up against the masses and know when to back down.

Eyzmair-chan In reply to ForestSpiritAiia [2009-07-04 19:39:55 +0000 UTC]

my thoughts exactly... well, not quite exactly. but, you have opened my eyes more, my friend.

it just gets on my nerves when people ALWAYS say that its my opinion and not the exact truth. but, i can't help to use my opinion. which is why i always try to say to them, "I'll stay to my opinion, and you stick to your own. I won't stop you as long as you don't stop me..."

and i agree that grammar, spelling, and vocabulary are strong. i, for one, have bad grammar because i was raised in the south; but, can you blame me? spelling i'm hardly good at, but i try. you have to give pointers for that. and vocabulary is one of my strongest aspects to use in debate.

all in all, i agree with you completely. and thank you for the help. i realized a lot of things from you.

Yes I followed the conversation a bit. I have to admit, it's rare to find a bigot, who's willing to give nothing but narrowminded opinions of someone expressing themselves and sharing that expression with others in the hopes that they will have just as good a time looking at it, as the artist did drawing it. Not to mention you comissioned to have the piece done which means that you share the same views as the arist that put your inspiraton to a visual medium. Ha ha... I'm rambling. I get all worked up over this sort of thing.

true true ^^

i do the same exact thing. don't worry. i think it's like an internal urge to debate. that's my kind of thing completely.

but then it irks me when people who are debating against me call out that i'm biased and basing everything on my opinion instead of what i'm usually doing, which is basing on true facts.
