Its unfortunate that I couldn't jam all the characters into one illustration (for technical and time-saving reasons xP) but when narrowing it down to four I like to think Mario, Kirby, Pikachu and Link are the Nintendo staple boys.You've got the original plumber mascot, the pink side-scroller alternative, the giant Japanese parent-money-eating franchise, and the only pretty-boy-RPG that Nintendo has ever done right.
Anywho, SSB games are probably the best fighters ever concieved. There are "classics" like Street Fighter, KOF, Tekken etc. But in my opinion, nothing is quite as innovative and fun as the SSB franchise in the genre.

I agree with your opinion about Fighting games, however I still like some fighting games such as Draglade for the Nintendo DS (it's an interesting and well done, still basic, but still good mix between RPG-Platformer-Fighter-Rhythm... do not take the latter element fool you, it's rarely concidered Rhythm).
I'm also going to buy Tatsunoko vs Capcom, because I really wonder how a real 2D Fighter game works on Consoles, and I want some variety with my games.
Most of my Wii games are JRPGs such as Muramasa and Tales of Symphonia, they are great
Anyway, you did this in an EPIC WAY!
You made them all seem realistic, while using darker style versions of the colours which most people use for Anime and Manga.

Awesome picture. The Super Smash Bros. is a fav series of mine. Here's a rule my friend made up for a match to be considered official in his eyes: Final Destination, no items, ten lives, 1-v-1, nothing but skill to get you through. I've. . . never beaten him with those under those rules.

FD is boring. There are a lot of other stages viable for competitive play, it doesn't have to be a completely static level. I personally like Delfino Square.
Most people play with 3 Stock, 10 is kind of overkill.

Well, those are his rules. And just between you and me, he is a stubborn, sore loser xD. My fav is Brinstar Depths from Melee. I loved that the revolving stage. And I love having items turned on. Except the fan. It pisses me off. Even more so in Brawl.

Was a huge SF 3rd Strike fan and I always enjoyed the KoF titles (mostly 98)
Not crazy about the Capcom vs games, feels like there's too much on screen all the time and RIDICULOUSLY HUGE specials firing off everywhere.
I really don't like the clunky 3D fighters like Tekken and SC though so there might be some bias there.
Diggin' SF4 so far, even though it's a lot campier than 3rd Strike. ;[
But then there's the SSB franchise. Completely different, easy to get into, hard to master.

SSB is also quite broken and heavily favored in some character. A strategy can change the moment an item comes into play and completely switch around the flow of a match, making it much less balanced to a point where it starts to look like MVC2.
There's a reason why we don't here about tales of SSB at Evo or Super Battle Opera.

Oh please, all fighting games have a Tier list at top levels. The ones in SSBM and SSBB are HARDLY broken in comparison.
No one plays SSB competitively with items. The fact that you even mentioned them tells me you don't know enough about the franchise on a competitive level to have an opinion worth noting.
