Description
“Come on, Raven! Your hair is always in your way.”
Summer’s eyes pleaded for her friend and teammate to take a moment with her. Though Raven was prickly and cold on the outside, Summer saw a sensitive, loyal person who constantly felt the need to put up walls; keeping herself, her brother and those she cared about protected.
But just for a few minutes, Summer wanted some ‘girl time’; to just forget that they were huntresses, let go of their responsibilities and reputations. She wanted them to be girls, plain and simple.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about. I always tie my hair back to prevent such a problem.”
“Yeah, but a ponytail can only help you so much, Rae. It won’t take long. Let me help you?”
Summer patted a spot on the floor in front of her. With a groan, Raven caved in, knowing how persistence and Summer go hand in hand. Sitting down, she began to feel Summer gently tug and shift her hair. It felt...nice. She had never let anyone touch her hair until now.
“Uaaaaah~”
Raven jumped slightly. “Wh-what?!”
Summer cooed again. “Your hair is so so so soft! What does it remind me of--oh right! Feathers! Your hair is so soft and thick, it reminds me of a birds feathers!” She combed Raven’s hair into place, twisting one strand over the other. It was unruly, of course, but Summer had envisioned her hair to be more coarse and dry. Quite the opposite.
“I wish my hair could be this thick and luscious! You’re so lucky, Rae.”
Raven blushed at her praise. “Mmmm...th-thanks. I suppose.”
----
I always envisioned Raven and Summer as good friends. I see Raven as a harsh realist, distant, and has a “twisted way of looking at the world”, and Summer, while a realist herself, also tends to lean towards optimism, is somewhat goofy, and tries to see the best in people.
They clash at first, Raven being unnecessarily hard on Summer and Summer unintentionally pissing her off, but Summer eventually breaks down Ravens hard outer shell (along with scoldings from her brother to CHILL THE F**K OUT), and the two become life long friends.

I've been admittedly pessimistic of Raven since "Beginnng of the End", but it'd be nice to be wrong about her...

She is a terrible mom, no doubt about that, but I believe there is more to her than what we've been shown.
