A very last minute (almost too literally) entry for CuteFlare 's Yellow contest!! ;v;/)

So, for my theory that I 100% know isn't what is actually going on but yknow what I'm gonna roll with it anyway I had fun thonking this up so here you go

Since Sabrina is my favourite of the four designs, I was at first gonna do something with her in it- I believe Sabrina and Jake were together at some point in the past. The thought did cross my mind that perhaps Sabrina would've been one of the girls he cheated on Tulip with, or that the two of them might end up together at some point, but I saw another entry with a similar premise so I decided against it. Besides, she did seem pretty pissed at Jake in Chapter 1, and keeping her personality in mind, I wouldn't think that she'd forgive Jake all that easily. She may be friends with him, but that's as far as I think she's willing to go at the moment.

On the other hand, in your recent speedpaint you mentioned that Jake is nothing like Ashfur, thus, my initial suspicions of his intentions kinda have to be thrown out of the window. So, by ignoring the obvious possibility that he'd want to ruin Tulip's life, I genuinely believe that he was speaking the truth in Chapter 1 when he said that he wanted to thank Tulip for some advice. As for what that advice was exactly, I'm not sure, but I'd like to think he has bettered his ways, or is actively working towards that direction.
Now then, why was he so angry to see Tulip and Michael together? Well, again, if his intention is not to ruin Tulip's life.... I can only guess that he has less a problem with Tulip having found a new guy, but more with Michael being with Tulip. I think that Michael and Jake were friends in the past, and Michael always had Jake's back, but eventually Michael realised just how toxic his friend was and cut Jake off from his life. As a result, Jake convinced himself Michael is a terrible person, the absolute bottom of the barrel. In the present, Jake has finally come to realise what he felt towards Tulip was real, and actually wants to make things right, or at least wishes things would've gone differently. Whether or not he still wants to be with Tulip, he can't stand seeing her with the "scum of the scum" that is Michael. :,DD On another thought, perhaps Jake believes that Michael is also the reason Tulip broke up with her. Maybe, just maybe, Michael was the one to tell on him to Tulip about the cheating (or he told Sabrina whom told Tulip?), and Jake believes Michael did that so he could have Tulip to himself.

I didn't really know at first how I wanted to put my theory into use, since I didn't really know what this would lead to in the long run, just that Jake would try to break Michael and Tulip up because it's both better of Tulip and also will hurt Michael. I don't know how far Jake would go with trying to ruin Michael's life, who knows, he might even try to end it altogether, who am I to say. So instead of actually trying to predict what would happen, I went for a more symbolic approach. So, what you see in the picture isn't literally what would happen, it's more so a symbolic representation.
Jake's about to hurt—possibly kill—the unsuspecting and naive Michael, and Tulip is absolutely horrified when she sees/realises what's going on. As for the yin and yang symbol Jake is atop of, although kinda cliche, I saw it fitting. In this case it represents the rational Michael who's moved on, and maddened Jake blinded by his nonsensical hatred, unable to realise he's the one in the wrong and to just let things go. The circles of the other colour in each half represent their past together, and how close they were- They can never fully rid themselves of each other, no matter how hard they may try. For the background I went with an abstract approach, I tried my best to signify that this is symbolic and not actually happening, coupled by colours I thought would fit the tone of what is being shown.

I hope you like it, I would've done more but I was kinda on a tight schedule, I did what I could!! Overall I'm quite proud of it honestly, so I'm happy I managed to make it. Good luck everyone in the contest, all the entries are just wonderful- Looking forward to seeing the results!! òvó/) <33
Also I hope I didn't make too many typos or anything and that what I wrote makes sense, I don't really have time to read through it again because I gotta submit this still today oOP-,,
