Damn good sketch cards, bro. I don't see that many of Rei Ayanami, so kudos for that.

Would you believe $5 a card?

Nice - bonus points for the Priss love.
Actually the other cards are all pretty cool too. Great work!

Priss FTW. If you ever did BGCT2040 fan art I'd let out the biggest fangirl squeal. It and NGE are the only animes I fangirl, but while there's tonnes of NGE art, poor BGC hardly gets any .

Plugsuit Rei is my favourite, but I'm very biased.
Is getting a table at Supanova even worth it? The cost last year was astonishing, I just couldn't imagine it being worth it for any but the professionals.

I think it's very worth it. I wasn't exactly very prepared last time... I had 30 or so sketch cards, some posters, and first issue of my comic. My sign was hand drawn, i didn't even have time to print a banner up.
I made over $400 dollars, most doing tiny sketches (my comic sold poorly and I gave the posters away for free). I made $200 just doing tiny copic marker sketches for people.
I was a guest of Oztaku, so I didn't pay for boothspace... but looking at the prices, I would have both covered the cost of an artist table (about $200) and made a profit. Plus saved the cost of entry for myself and a friend. No lines to get in, all areas access. Official guest status.
If you can draw, and you can produce something that's cheap and catchy for people to pick up, it's SO worth it.
You would definitely cover your costs and make a profit. You just have to be prepared to have a lot of little shits to sell, some gimmicks to get them to your booth, and be prepared to be there the whole day to sell yourself and your art.
And trust me, you'll feel fantastic sitting behind your little desk .

Interesting, because last time I'd looked at their table prices it was something like $1k. Which boggled me. I think that year they were supposed to have a lot of particularly special guests, but it was still a case where unknowns like me could never hope to make up the cost, let alone make a profit.
I've always wanted to give it a go, though, but ffff arranging it and doing it and... then the age-old issue of 'my art's not good enough nobody will buy it QQ'.
Thanks for the informative reply.

I'm pretty sure the closer to the date, the more expensive the table. Last I checked they were a couple hundred for a single space table. This was months ago, but.

Very nice.
Too bad Copics seem to make the world go round...What about poor artists?

Well technically only about 10 of my pens are Copics - which I bought on the cheap from the guys who help publish my comics. The rest are knock off brands from art stores, about $7 Australian each. It's taken me 3 years to slowly build up the range of colours I have, and I'm still missing a whole heap.
It helps if you sell your compics art, that way you at least pay back the money it cost to buy the pens.
But yeah, Copics :\. Freaking expensive to play around with.
(I personally think pencils are just as good, I just am very untalented with them ... ).

You gotta pick your colours veeeeery wisely. But say, one marker a week, slowly you have a good collection, without breaking the budget.

What I mean is, you said you got knock-off brands for $7. Copics cost $7 here. Knock-offs are around $3 or $4 or so (at least, Prismacolors are around $3)

Yeah, my art store is a rip, but it's cheaper than ordering online still, and I don't mind it. They're pretty decent quality.
