I wanted to try and make the community griffians with colored pencils too and boy did I overestimate my abilities.... It has been YEARS since I last colored with pencils and the pack I got isn't really hue rich either so this was a real struggle. I couldn't for the love of god get the common innard colors right even RIP x,DHonestly I am not even sure if I can do the fornlees, kryptoxes and perfaunts in time. Maybe as simple chibis without the usual cake treatment? Still no guarantee I can pull it off so I apologise if anyone was looking forward to those and I can't deliver ;v;
Meanwhile I hope you guys enjoy this piece and hopefully the shading is visible enough to count

Having a limited amount of colored pencils to work with is pretty difficult compared to making digital art.

Yeah no kidding, only just now do I truly appreciate how easy I have it with digital art xD Still, it can't hurt to get back to ones roots occasionally, right?

As someone who mainly does traditional art, I can definitely agree with that. I do digital art occasionally, but with a mouse since my Wacom cintiq is broken. Both are pretty easy in my opinion.

For example here:
you could keep the pale colors pale and the bright ones bright, I totally failed at that xD
And this is tiers above my excuse of a traditional art

I really like your pencil work ! You're not giving yourself credit honestly !
But you should enjoy your vacation and not worry too much about the birthday movement if it's gunna stress you out with colours and stuff !

Ah I'm glad you think so! But I DID use to color better, probably with pencils more suitable for myself, these were bought just now and I still have to get used to them 
And don't worry! I had a lot of fun today too, I always draw for fun while we fish since it can take a good while for fish to find our bait
