I agree on what you said, Chris. The Cat in the Hat movie was horrible, and quite frankly, the worst movie of all time!

I remember that scene from that cartoon I never could forget especially at how he was able to get his hat to cover his entire body I watched that as a kid a lot of years ago its a fun cartoon to watch.

Great job! The 1971 special was how I got into Dr. Seuss and it was so awesome when I first saw it as a little child!

Thanks much. That one scene was too trippy to simply watch it. Scenes like that deserve some recognition

Trippy = "strange, similar to the effects of a hallucinogen". Hence why that particular scene inspired me to draw it X)

Oh, ok. XD Now I really agree, that scene WAS strange and similar to the effects of hallucinogen...-ification... as Cat in the Hat would say... xD

Great picture.
From what I've read on wikipedia the 2003 version had a lot of adult humor, which feels out of place in a Dr. Seuss film (one gag even evolved the word "s@#^!").
Now call me crazy, but I would like to see "Blue Sky"'s version of "The Cat in the Hat", probably just to see how they would animate it, but nothing can bet the original special.

Aye, quite true. Then again, I have some warm faith in Blue Sky's works. Heck, at least their version of Horton had some nice splashes of 2D

Believe me, the 2D version (which you can find online) doesn't follow the original Cat in the Hat story, but is still just as fun - written by Dr. Seuss himself and storyboarded by Chuck Jones, so it HAS to be a gem to treasure

Hell yes...and no disregard to Mike Myers, but Sherman was more loveable at the role than him
It's on YouToob now - go find eet!

The 1971 Cat special was one of my faves growing up. It's not nearly as obnoxious as the Mike Myers cat.

And more to the fact that the original creator penned most of the Seuss animated specials back then, too. Not many writers would have the chance now XP
