Why, h why have I not found you before. The combination of elements works brilliant in this, making it both alien and scifi, while still being so common place one does not loose touch with whole sense of being there.

I think the composition is pretty cool on this... It's just the jumping guy, the ship, and the monolith faded into the background.

Thank you very much. The composition came from sketching it first. Like your post quote btw!

Nice mixture of media here, it is interesting to try and work out which is which. Nice job

Not a fan at all of the texturing on the armor or the simplicity of the shuttle, but I'm very impressed with just the amount of mixed media you put in here - other than those two quibbles it's actually a very cool scene, and shows how far you can really stretch the relatively limited capabilities of SU.

Hi there, thanks for your comments. Did you mean the texture pattern on the armour or the way it was laid (just not sure)? The shuttle does also need more work but I intend to create a more detailed one for another piece in future. I figured it would be ok as it is partially obscured in the mist.
Glad you liked the overall effect!
Thanks again.

The texture pattern is what bugs me the most - it looks like it's pitted everywhere. That, and the entire armor looks to be made of one material/paint type, so it looks very artificial.
Thanks for listening well to critique.

No probs, I need to listen in order to improve.
It is indeed meant to look pitted (as if its taken some knocks), but I do take your meaning on the material. There are in fact variations of the armour camo on different parts however I think the effect is rather too subtle to be noticed - so yes i can see that it does look rather pasted on. I may re-texture the model in future. Same theme but altered.
Thanks again!

No problem, keep up the good work. You've definitely got some interesting ideas, being able to pull together so many medias into one image - especially with Sketchup's relatively difficult toolset.

Thank you so much for your generous comments.
To get such a mention from a professional of your calibre is exciting and a motivator to achieve better work.
Your Space Vagabonds series was an inspiration for the armour design for my lastest posted work: 'Over Target Area'.
Can you spot that, I wonder?
Thanks again.

Yep, that was certainly one element. Needed a cool way to cool the generator and your suit design had a great look. Thanks for your inspiration and kind words.
