Description
A (literal) sister accompaniment piece for Banishment. It tells, like it's sister piece, of the moment in time when Celestia is forced to banish her own sister to the moon. Compared to Luna's half, I took more liberties in the shading, including actively using compressed charcoal to attain darker cast shadows in both the clouds and body.
Also among the liberties taken is the armor: I referred to Rage of the Sun by SilFoe here on dA to design the armor; not as elaborate as that one, but still enough.
I recommend this song for listening while looking at this.
Time Estimated: 4 hours, 45 minutes.
Media: Pencil and compressed charcoal
Have a nice day

I bet shading sketches that have night scenes are tough. I could never get that for some reason

Well, not really. Instead of focusing on where the shadows go, I think it's easier to figure out where the light will go instead. After that, it's just a matter of avoiding those spots and dropping a lot of graphite or whatever the medium is. I think the hardest kind of shading is when you've got reflective surfaces and/or multiple sources of light.

Yeah because I was thinking of doing a Princess Luna sketch and the sketch I'm thinking of involves night time It's just Luna sitting under a tree watching the moonlight
