I cried manly tears of epic-ness when I first bared witness to this scene in the series Gurren Lagann. Every time since then, I shed a tear. In the first movie, when they redid this scene, I cried yet again. When Simon (pronouced 'See-Moan' if you don't know) pulls out of his depression and rises to the occasion to save Nia and the members of Dai-Gurren, I was absolutely moved by his speech, even if they tell him it's not as good as Kamina's afterward.
The great Spiral Warrior, Simon, and his Spiral Knight, Lagann, with Nia present (with long hair I might add). I originally just intended to make this a black and white image with Simon's red scarf the only thing in color, but then I added the speech because of how epic it is, though it is a bit intrusive. If anybody wants me to, I'll go ahead and finish coloring it, or post a text-less version.

I'd say that if you're going to do anything after removing the text, just shade it with a dark greyscale and leave the scarf red. And yes, that's totally one of my favourite scenes in the series.

What if... you did a different version with the speech in Japanese, even if it was just still english writing?

Actually, that's a merger of a few of the things he said in the English Dub as well as a Japanese Dub I read... the only thing is, I could use a direct translation, which is essentially impossible, or I could use of the many, many translations out there. The fan ones, or the official one... of the many of them, they're all different. Hell, I remember reading one once where they didn't say "Who the HELL do you think I am!" They said "fu*k" in the place of hell. I thought it was just silly.

In the Japanese versions I've seen, he is called "Simon the Driller"... it makes sense, but I prefer digger. As for the "mixture" ones, it just means I liked something they said in English, then when reading the Japanese version of that line, liked part of it, but not all of it, so I combined them in a way. For example: "If you're gonna dig, Pierce the Heavens!" In the English version they said, "If you're gonna dig, dig to the heavens!" while in the Japanese translation, he said "If you're gonna drill, Pierce the Heavens!"
or, even better
English: "No matter what's in my way, I won't stop!"
Japanese: "Even if it's my own grave I'm digging, I'll keep going!"
Not sure how those lines got messed up so bad right there. I like the "digging your own grave" thing, but I know they didn't have very much time to say the line. It's actually a split second, and the line is done in Japanese, and the English line definitely can be said faster, without a dramatic pause.
As well, in the English version he just says:
"I'm not my bro - I'm ME! SIMON THE DIGGER!"
In the Japanese version, he says a tad bit more, but the English voices sync up with the picture much better than the Japanese ones, and it fits better to the scene in my opinion in English:
"I'm not bro/(aneki). I'm not Kamina. I'm ME! SIMON THE DRILLER!"
I suppose I could do a straight English Dub one and a straight Japanese Dub one though, it would just end up being the Japanese Dub that I've seen and have, not some other one, or the fan Dubs.
