Yeah, 3208x2137 pixels.
The camera with which I took this photo has a 10MP sensor, which always gives me pictures about this size. In this one, I did a little cropping.
With large sensors, the resolution is even bigger.
I don't remember right now, but my 22MP camera gives me photos with double this size.

I would like to take some photos of a few deer and hawks that fly around my house.

Also a few couples at my church as well as some models, lol.

If that's your goal, you don't have to worry about the size of the camera's sensor.

The important thing to photograph birds and wild animals is to have the correct lens. Telephoto lens are the correct option for you, because they let you take close photos even if you're very far from the object.
The problem with telephoto lens is that they're usually very expensive, but you can start with some basic equipment just to make sure if you're realy gonna take photography more seriously (and then invest in expensive equipment).

I would recommend to you a Canon T3i camera with a EF-75-300mm F4-5.6 III USM lens.
Since the sensor of Canon T3i is "cropped", the final focal lenght for this lens is above 400mm. And with 18MP your photos will have high resolution as well.

If you plan to photography in day light, this should be enough to start.
