And the changes he made - his promotion of patriotism and servitude to the nation instead of himself... Enlightened monarchy, woo!

I know Friedrich was really considered the first king of Prussia, but people keep saying his soul was French. I mean, France and Prussia have been enemies for more times than they have been allies, but he still had ties with France....apparently, i dont know...
Why would people dare to eve say his heart was French, when he did so much for Prussia? I mean, he was the best king Prussians ever had, he went so far.

Indeed, but Fritz was a well known Francophile (of which his father strongly disapproved). He preferred to speak French (as he saw German has an ugly language - though his mother could be blamed for that), French dress , French music, philosophy, and art. That said, something a lot of people seem to get wrong is that the one time he did run away from home, he was trying to get to England rather than France, as that's where his maternal family was (and the one time he did get to France, he was sorely disappointed).
But in the end, he was undoubtedly dedicated to his country.

Did you know that he said his last words in French?Since he didn't like the way German sounded. Though the officials around him didn't think his German was that good either.) I find it an interesting little characterization to a guy like that. He was pretty interesting.

He was a very impressive guy
You can blame his mother for him hating German - She was the one who told him it was too rough and inelegant sounding. Of course his father disagreed quite severely. I understand neither his German nor his French were that good as a consequence.

technically Prussia doesn't "die" because Prussia became the German Empire by uniting with German states and placing their king, William the first, at the head all that happens during world war one is that German land is taken....
