Description My 2nd Contest Entry for *thatWeasel . <333
I wanted to draw Jake because no one ever draws him, and he's such a lovable character! ;w;

I am super happy with how this came out~ Shading isn't as good as I hoped, but I'm pleased with the anatomy and pose. It's different to what I usually draw.

It's been a while since I've drawn in my actual style. xD; It's just been endless Sega style, damn you Sonic Riders and Sonic Channel style. |D;

And omg, it's a background. But it's cheating really. It's my mum's photo of when she went to America. 8D Damnit, I want to go there too. ;___;

I seriously want PS back, as GIMP has horrible lineart. D| If anyone knows any good tutorials for thin lineart in GIMP, please tell me!

This is just a great peice Jessy
I love how the chains are color they are very eye catching but subtle and doesn't take away from the view looking at the face.
The character looks like he is popping out of the picture, which can be both a good and a bad thing. It catches the on looker's attention, but at the same time kinda make the background behind them somewhat fake. Not that I don't like the background, I love it really I do. Its not all that noticeable.
The shading is very nice but one thing that somewhat bugs me is the shading on the torso. You have the light source to the right (his left) yet his torso's shading hints more at a light source coming from the front of him instead of the side. You might want to bring in a lighter shade possibly and make his right (our left) side a little more shaded.
I love how you colored the furr it looks so amazing and wonderful ;w; I love how you used highlights on this. He just looks so soft ;w; I want to pet him so much right now.
Awesome Work on this Jesseh. I can't wait to see more of your art.

Well at least you find something for me I usually just say "screwthebackgroundIcan'tthinkofonesothereshallbenone". All you have to do is practice to get better. What you could done is try to draw that scene using the photo as a reference and possibly tracing a sketch from it. Then color it and outline. Its what I do for somethings. I did it with the Jack and Yusei picture I did a while back. Its a great spring board and on what gives you feeling for it and adding your own little touches. Then you may get a little bit more of an understanding. And when I say a sketch, I mean really basic. Like ragged lines and just getting the basic shapes used. I don't do it often but that's what I do sometimes, though I've really only done it once.
Your not bad at it, its just a bit off in a few places. Nothing a little practice can't fix C:

LOL, backgrounds are like every artist's worst nightmare. I swear.
I plan to do that I just never have a patience. It's like "YES I'VE FINALLY FINISHED THE PICTURE, ohwaitnofuck I still have a background to do. I CAN'T BE ASSED."

This is why I usually do the outline and then force myself to do a background then or a little later.

This pic is pretty awesome~! I love that flame and the shines!@v@ Hmm for what I believe you may want to work on is
the male body. It's a bit off from the shoulder but none the less still pretty good!<3 Maybe you could practice drawing boxes/rectangles for the abdomen.Thats what I usually do for males(im not that good with males either so im critiquing only what I know!xD)

Well here in the forest we have a lot of horses, donkeys and ponies. Also pigs, ducks and sometimes swans.
Tbh I'm quite scared of wild animals. xD; So I don't have much fun here.
